Quiet Child

This is the first story in my series of Hall's Academy fanfiction! But this is not a fanfiction. I am first starting with the stories of all my characters I've created here, starting with Rebecca Diana Andrews. See her life before the academy. Favorite memories, laughter, tears, sorrow, joys, and her journey to Hall's Academy.

Book 1, Rebecca Andrews

Chapter One

Rebecca learned of her powers when she was 7 years old. It was when she was all by herself in her room. She was using her coloring book, coloring a tiger purple with pink stripes. She wanted more colors and turned her head to see a small box of crayons on her desk. Suddenly it just floated to her. Rebecca stared in surprise, not realizing she did that. When it happened again, she knew it was her. But she decided to keep this little detail to herself, for the moment.

Now Rebecca is 12 years old. Her dad died in a car crash last year. It was a week after Becca told him about her powers. The first she ever told. What the sad part is, he didn't seem to understand. Not until the day he left that fateful day. Before he left for work, he looked into her eyes and said "I love you for who you are, Becca. You're my daughter, and even though I may not understand you fully, you're a special child"
She smiled as he exited through the front door. Then only a half an hour later, they got a phone call. And it was on the news. Rebecca took it the hardest, falling to her knees, crying out loud as the tears soaked her own clothes.

Today is the wedding. Mom was getting married to a new man. His name was Jackson.
Rebecca walked down the aisle as The Maid Of Honor, as two Bridesmaids followed, and Mom was right behind them arm and arm with Grandpa. There at the end stood Jackson, with his son Mike by his side as the best man.
"Do you, Jackson Sean Roberts, take this woman to be your wife?" the pastor asked.
"I do" Jackson replied.
The pastor then looked at Mom. "Do you, Mary Shawna Martin Andrews, take this man to be your husband?"
"I do" she said with a few tears in her eyes.
"I now pronounce you husband and wife, you may now kiss the bride"
They both slipped their wedding rings on the other's finger and Jackson gave his bride the most beautiful, passionate kiss. Though Rebecca missed her dad with all her heart, it was good to see her mom this happy again.

After the reception, they all got home, happy to get into their casual clothing. Rebecca let out a sigh of relief when she took off her high-heels and sat on the sofa. "Home sweet home at last!" she said, slightly smiling. Mike sat next to her, also taking off his shoes.
"What a day" he said. "Looks like we're brother and sister"
"Step brother and sister" Rebecca reminded. "Unless Mom adopts you and Jackson adopts me, then we'll be siblings"
"So you're not going to call him Dad?"
"That name is reserved for my real Dad only"
"But I'm already calling Mary my mom"
"So?" Rebecca said, looking at him. "You already told me you hated your mom, and she's still alive. Your parents just divorced"
"True" Mike nodded. "But won't you give Dad a chance?"
"I am, but I just can't call him..." she tried to hold back the tears and she began to breathe heavily.
"No, no, please Rebecca...don't cry..." Mike said. "Let's pretend I kept my mouth shut. I should be a little more understanding"
"It's okay" Rebecca said. "You've never went through anything like this. You don't know how it feels. I understand you slipping"
She smiled and then he smiled back.

"Who wants some left-over wedding cake?" Jackson yelled.
Mike and Rebecca looked at each other with opened mouths, then they hopped off the sofa and dashed into the kitchen. Within 3 seconds they were digging into the left-over cake.
"Save me some!" Mom said, taking a seat and snagging a slice. There was alot of laughter and fun happening at the table. They were a family. Rebecca didn't admit it, but she felt Jackson was a worthy guy to replace Dad. But nobody could really replace him.

Chapter Two

"Hi Rebecca!" Rita waved. She was one of her closest friends, lives right across the street.
Rebecca waved back and then turned back to the mail box to bring the mail inside. Rita ran to her. "You wanna do something today?" Rita asked hopefully. Rebecca shrugged. "I don't know, like what?"
"Ya know, just hang out and stuff" she smiled. "Please?"
"Okay. Sure" Rebecca replied. "Let me bring in the mail first"

She entered the house, her friend following. Rebecca sifted through the mail to see what they got. Water bill, electric bill, gas bill, and some store flyers. Nothing really interesting. She threw it on the table and looked towards her friend. "Should we invite Jana and Lydia?" Rebecca suggested.
Rita pulled out her cell phone. "I'm on it"

"What's the emergency?" Lydia asked as they all met in front of Rebecca's house.
"Yeah, it sounded urgent" said Jana.
"There was no emergency!" Rebecca said. "You know how Rita makes everything sound so dramatic for no reason"
"I do not!" Rita protested.
"Oh yeah?" Becca shot a glare at her. "Then how come Jana and Lydia thought they came here for an emergency when we're really here to all hang out?"
"You know how I like to get people's attention"
She rolled her eyes and looked at her friends. "So, got any suggestions?"

Just then, Mike came out. He saw the girls and stopped. "What are you guys doing?" he asked out of curiousity.
"Your step-brother is cute!" Jana whispered into Rebecca ears. She just rolled her eyes at that comment. "Figuring out what we're going to do today" replied Lydia. "Wanna come with?"
Mike shrugged. "I don't have anything else to do"
"Great!" Lydia said. "Let's crash the mall!"

So off they went. First stop was the food court, of course. It's the best place to be at the mall. "Let's order a personal pan pizza and split it 5 ways" Rita suggested.
"5 ways with a personal pan?" Mike shaked his head. "No way. You need at least a medium"
"Hello! Trying to keep thin here!" Rita said.
Mike rolled her eyes. "You're only 13, Rita, only crazy 16 year old girls do that"
"She wants to start being crazy early" Jana said, laughing. Rita tossed a dark look at her.
"Come on, guys, we got to decide what we're going to eat" said Rebecca. "I say let's get the medium pizza. We can all share two sodas, and each of us can get an ice-cream cone"
"And this is all possible if we all chip in 3 dollars" said Lydia, placing her share on the table.
Everyone threw their money onto the table. Rebecca counted it all and nodded, "This should be more than enough!"

Chapter Three

They all left as the mall began to close. It was around 7 o'clock. The sun had basically went completely down. The group lost all track of time.
"I gotta get home" said Lydia. "I'll catch you guys later"
Lydia grabbed her backpack and then ran off. "I better leave too," said Jana. "See ya"
Rebecca waved as her two friends left. Now it was just her, Mike, and Rita walking home together.

"That was good pizza" said Mike.
"Yeah, it was" Rebecca agreed.
"Too fattening" Rita commented.
"Oh, come on, Rita, a few pounds never hurt anyone"
"Just wait until you blow up like a balloon"
"I exercise" Rebecca said proudly. "Unlike you, lazy"
"Hey! Watch who you're calling lazy!"
Mike laughed as the two girls were fighting. Soon they arrived to home.

"Catch ya later!" Rita waved, running across the street to her house.
"See ya!" Rebecca waved back, then she turned to Mike. "This was a fun day"
"Yeah, I guess" Mike said, putting his hands into his pockets. Rebecca stuck her copy of the key into the door and pushed it opened.
"We're home!" Rebecca announced, as they entered the dark house.
"Safe and sound!" Mike added. He flipped on the light switch and took off his windbreaker jacket. No one appeared to be home.

"That's odd, they should be home by now" said Rebecca. "Do you think they're running late?"
"Hmmmm...no messages" Mike said, checking the phone.
Rebecca shrugged it off and headed to her room. She had some homework to do.
"Where's my pencil?" she said, looking around. "Oh, there it is!"
In the excitement, without her knowing it, she made the pencil rush to her. Before it stabbed into her skin, she quickly grabbed it in mid air. Her heart raced after what she had done. Sometimes she forgets she even has powers. With her desk lamp on, she sat at her desk as she began her latest assignment. Everyone was to write an SA on their favorite hobby. "This is easy" Rebecca thought. "I should be done in no time"

Knock-know. "Huh?" Rebecca turned towards her door.
"Hey Bec, it's me" it was Mike. "Can I come in?"
"Sure" she replied.
The door swung open and Mike entered her rather cluttered room. "You're just as messy as me" Mike laughed.
"What do you want?" she asked, still writing and looking at her paper.
"Dad called"
"What'd he want?"
"He said he'll be home around midnight"
"And what about Mom?"
"I don't know. Only Dad called"
"Do you think she's okay?" she turned her head to look at Mike.
"I'm sure she is, Rebecca, just running late"

Running late. That ran through her head over and over. "Ah, shoot, I'm running late" Dad said as he looked at his watch. "I gotta go"
"Don't forget your brief case!" Mom went and handed it to him. They both had a short kiss goodbye. Rebecca looked up at him, a little sad looking. She still felt hurt with his reaction about her powers. This stopped him and he knelt down in front of her. That's when he told her what she'd always remember. It still rang through her ears. "I love you for who you are, Becca. You're my daughter, and even though I may not understand you fully, you're a special child"
He smiled at her and she smiled back. He stood back up and put his hand on the knob, turning it. "I love you, Daddy" she said.
He looked back one more time, "I love you too, sweetheart. I know you have a wonderful destiny ahead of you"
Then he left. Little did she know he'd be gone forever.

"Rebecca!" Mike snapped her out of her daze. The memory stopped flashing through her head. It was like a dream. For a second, it felt like she was right there.
"Becca? Earth to Becca!"
"Quiet!" she shouted. "I hear ya! Gosh"
Mike slightly laughed at her reaction. "What was going through your head?"
Rebecca froze. One last time the memory flashed through her head. The last words he said, "I know you have a wonderful destiny ahead of you"

Chapter Four

"Hurry! Get to the courtyard!" the headmistress ordered. All the students were scattering, but Rebecca stood there still in fear in the chaos. There was a loud noise in the distance. Something was happening.
"Where is Legacy?" the headmistress panicked as she looked at one of the teachers.
"Becca!" Mike took her hand. "Help me look for Legacy. She's gone missing"
"I thought her name was Lily" Rebecca was puzzled.
"She is Legacy, remember?" Mike let out a sigh of frustration. "You never pay attention to History, do you?"

Rebecca shot up in bed. It was just a dream. But it didn't feel like it was a dream. It seemed to mean something else. Mike looked older. She was older. Not like really old, but by a few years. Like teenage years. It was so weird.

The rest of the day she payed no attention to that dream. It was like she never had it. Rita came by to visit. "I got some sweet gossip to tell you!" she said with an evil grin.
Rebecca moaned. "I hate gossip!"
"I know" Rita smirked. "I was only kidding"
"You have weird ways to get someone's attention"
"I know. Aren't I awesome?"
Rebecca rolled her eyes as her friend laughed.

"Breakfast!" Mom called.
"Care to join us?" Rebecca looked at Rita.
"Yeah!" she exclaimed. "Let's get to eating"
They both raced to the kitchen table. There sat Jackson with a news paper and cup of coffee. Mike was wolfing down some waffles and scrambled eggs.
"Mmmm...pancakes" Rita drooled, about to stick it with a fork.
"Oh, wait" she pulled the plate from her. "You're trying to lose weight. Keep thin"
"What the? Hey!"
"I thought you didn't want to get fat"
"I can run it off!" she took the plate back and started stuffing her face. Rebecca just burst out laughing.

After everyone was done with breakfast, Rebecca offered to clear the table. When that was over with, she went to her room to take a nap. She likes to take afternoon naps at least once a week on Sundays. Then it started again...that dream.

"Becca!" Mike took her hand. "Help me look for Legacy. She's gone missing"
"I thought her name was Lily" Rebecca was puzzled.
"She is Legacy, remember?" Mike let out a sigh of frustration. "You never pay attention to History, do you? Now come on!"
He pulled her as they ran down the hall. The building was shaking a pieces of the roof began to fall. There in the distance Lily stood. There was a man there dressed in black and one of the other students with an evil smile. "Legacy!" Mike cried. "Don't go with him!"
Lily took the man's hand and then the other student's. "Please, Lily, no!" Rebecca screamed.
The man laughed an evil laugh. "Princess is ours. We will find The Warrior. You can't hide him forever"
At that moment, Lily closed her eyes and they all vanished in a puff of white smoke.
Rebecca woke up screaming. Who is Legacy?

Chapter Five

Motioning with her hands, Rebecca focused her mind on three pencils. She had them twirl in the air and suddenly, letting herself lose all control, let them drop to the ground. Opening up her eyes, she got off her bed and grabbed her backpack. Another school day.

"Here's your lunch" Mom handed her a paper bag.
"Thanks" she said. "Where's Mike?"
"On the bus," she replied. "Now run!"

She dashed out of the house and into the bus, sitting in the way back with Rita. "The bus almost left without you, haha" she said. Rebecca rolled her eyes and set her backpack aside. "Rebecca!" Jeffery took a seat in between them. "Did you do your homework?"
"Yes, Jeffery" she replied. Jeffery was her only guyfriend, and he can be such a dork sometimes.
"I got mine done. I wrote about rock collecting and building stuff" he said. "What'd you write about?"
"Keeping dream journals" Rebecca replied.
"You keep a dream journal?" Rita then laughed. "You serious?"
"I knew you guys would laugh at me" Rebecca hid her face.
"Hey, if you noticed, Rita's the only one laughing" Jeffery pointed out. "I think that's cool. What kind of dreams do you have?"
"Come to think of it..." Rebecca looked deep into her mind, but found nothing. "Geez, I kind of forget them"
"No sweat, everyone does. It's fresh in the morning, but gone in several instances just like breakfast"

The bus stopped in front of the school. All kids quickly exited the bus. "You know, Becca, I'd like to hear more about your hobby" Jeffery said with real interest.
"Who knows? Maybe Miss Caddie will read it in class today" suggested Rita.
"Yeah right" Rebecca said under her breath. "Nobody finds me interesting"

When lunch arrived, Rebecca looked into the paper bag to see what her mom had packed her. Two apples, half a banana, a plastic bag of cheese crackers, a mini bottled water, and a chocolate chip cookie. Shrugging, she reached for the banana to eat it first. Mom never seemed like the type to pack great lunches. It was healthy, but not very filling. Jackson is pretty good at it though. One time he packed her lunch, and it was delicious!
Pasta salad, fruit salad, peanutbutter and banana sandwich, chocolate pudding, an orange juice. Her mouth just began to water thinking about it.

"Yo!" Dan snapped his fingers in front of her face. "Sup, Becca?"
"Oh, hi Danny" Rebecca came back to reality. Dan was Rita's brother. Sometimes they chit chat at lunch, but Rebecca's never considered him a close friend. But maybe she should start to. "You looked like you had a cool daydream" he said. "I know it was food"
"Yeah, I was thinking about the lunch Jackson packed me last Friday" Rebecca then went into the dreamy state again. Dan just laughed and looked in his paper bag to see what his mom packed him. "Oh yeah, mac & cheese, baby!" he grinned. "Oh, and look, two homemade fudge brownies and half an avacado"
Rebecca sighed as she finished her lunch. Oh well. Maybe she'll ask Jackson to start making her lunches.

Chapter Six

"She's gone" Mike said, after Lily and the others disappeared. "Now we must look for the other Legacy"
"Who is Legacy?" Rebecca asked.
"Lily was only one of the Legacies" Mike explained. "Nick is the other one. You really need to pay attention to class"

Rebecca shot up in bed again. The dream slightly continued. Something about Legacy. There wasn't just one, but two. She tried to shrug it off, thinking it was nothing more than a meaningless dream. She crawled out of bed and got ready for yet another day at school. The dream got her to thinking about her powers. Maybe it's time she doesn't keep it a secret anymore. The only one she told was her dad.

The girl remained in deep thought on the entire bus ride. That dream didn't escape her head. Could this be the destiny ahead of her? Sure, she isn't any Legacy, that was obvious. But it was like she would be part of it. That she is going to meet these Legacies. And be part of some battle. But she decided to throw these thoughts in the garbage. It was just a silly dream, nothing more.

"Aren't you going to see what you got?" Rita broke through.
"Huh?" Rebecca woke up.
"Yeah, maybe your mom packed you something good this time" said Dan.
"As if," said Lydia. "My mom always packs me just salad. I always have to sneak in something else so I can actually weigh more than 80 pounds"

"Hey Rebecca," Jeffery sat next to her. His dirty-blond curly hair looked slightly more messy than usual.
Becca smiled at him. "Hey Jeff"
"I would like to give you something..." he took a seashell necklace out of his pocket. Rebecca gasped and took it, staring at it. "Did you make this?"
"Uhhh...yeah...just last night..." he said. "Ummm...do you...like it?"
"I love it!" she said, putting it on.
"Someone has a crush on Rebecca" Lydia teased.
The bell rang. It was time to get back to class. "See ya, Beccy!" Jeffery said.
Rebecca debated on whether telling her friends about her power. Jeff seemed kind and sincere, maybe she'll tell him first.

Chapter Seven

It wasn't going to be a secret anymore. She was going to tell him. Rebecca had chosen Jeff to be the first of her friends to know of her telekinesis. Quickly, she got ready for school. Eating a bag of chips along the way, she got onto the bus. She was wearing the beautiful necklace that Jeff gave her.

At lunch, before anyone showed up, she was about to ask Jeff if they could speak in the hallway, but he beat her to it. "Can we talk?" he asked. "In the hallway"
"Sure" she said, getting out of her seat. She followed him into the empty hallway. She leaned her side against the lockers and looked at Jeff.
He looked a bit nervous. He was always sort of a dork, in looks and attitude. But that made it kind of cute, too.

Rebecca prepared to intently listen. After he told her something, it'd be her turn to tell him.
"I was....uhhh...wondering" he started. "Uhhh...do you like....movies?"
"Yeah, I love movies" she smiled. "There's this one I saw advertised on TV. It looked totally cool"
"Great" he said. "Ummm...maybe I could take you...just you and me?"
Her eyes widened and she stood up straight. Jeff was asking her out....on a date???
"What are you trying to tell me, Jeff?" Rebecca asked, butterflies in her stomach, and feeling a little weird.
"I....uhhh...really like....you're a great girl, Rebecca, and...." he stopped there. He was just so nervous, not sure how to really say it to her. But then he made a bold move. He couldn't say it in words, so he just pulled her close and gave her a long kiss on the lips.

For what seemed to be a long time they stared at each other. Rebecca pressed her lips together. The thought of his lips on hers was a strange thought. She didn't know exactly what to think, or feel. She should've guessed, considering the necklace he made her. He was only a year older than her, already 13. She thought twice about telling him now about her powers. She might scare him off. Maybe she'll put it off until later.

Chapter Eight

Jeffery and Rebecca didn't speak a word to each other at lunch. Not even gave each other a glance. Rita was getting suspcious, like she always does. Wanting to figure out all of this. After lunch, as Rebecca took some stuff from her locker, Rita pulled her to the side.
"What's going on between you and Jeffery?" she asked.
"Nothing!" Becca replied. "Now could you please let go of my arm and leave me alone?"
"Come on, Rebecca, you can tell me, I'm your friend" Rita smiled.
"I gotta get to glass" Becca pushed her to the side and went to the classroom.

Today she decided to walk home. Luckily her backpack wasn't filled with 50 pounds of books, so it wouldn't hurt her back. Jeffery caught up with her. She about freaked out for a second, but remained calm. "Hey Beccy," he said, walking beside her.
"Hi Jeff" she said flatly.
"What's wrong?" he said, sounding concerned.
"Nothing" she replied in a low tone.
"Are you mad at me?" he asked.
Rebecca then stopped and looked at him. "What?"
"About the kiss" he said. "Are you mad?"
"Well...it's just that..." she didn't know what to say. "No, I'm not"

Jeffery slowly gripped her hand and he smiled at her. Rebecca tried not to look at him, not knowing what to do or think. And if she tells him about her powers....well, that's a whole new level of trust. And the question is....will he betray it?
When the two reached to Becca's house, Mike spotted them holding hands. Like a protective brother, he jumped in front of him and moved his hand fast through theirs, like a blade slicing cheese.
"Leave my sister alone!" he said.
Rebecca felt embarrased. "Jeffery is my friend, remember? He's not going to hurt me"
"I thought you were step-siblings" said Jeffery, a bit confused.
Mike scanned Jeffery expression and sighed. "You're free to go"

Chapter Nine

Rebecca stared at the necklace that Jeffery gave her a week ago. For the entire week she's been trying to avoid him. She wasn't sure what to feel about the kiss. It's not that she didn't like him...maybe that's the reason she's hiding. It's because she does like him. No, love him....alot. But what's holding her back? Her power. What if he freaks?
She didn't want him to get scared off or start calling her names. Her heart would be torn to pieces.

"What's the matter?" Lydia asked as they sat alone outside on the lunch patio, in an area where not many sat.
"Well, Lydia....I know I can trust you" Rebecca said. "And so, I wanted to only tell you. Rita will just make stupid jokes if I tell her"
"Haha, yeah" she slightly laughed. "We all know Rita. So like, tell me, what's up?"
"Well...you know how I've been avoiding Jeffery, right?"
"Yeah. It's been a little weird"
"It's because...." Rebecca sighed. "He kissed me"
At that moment Lydia was sipping a soda, and as soon as she heard that.....SPIT!
"WHAT?!"
"Yuck! Lydia!" Rebecca had to wipe off her face with a napkin, 'cause she sprayed all the soda from her mouth on her.
"Sorry..." Lydia blushed with embarrasment.
"Anyway. I do like him, but I'm afraid..." she stopped there. She drew the line of telling her best friend she was a gifted.

"Hey....Rebecca! What?" Lydia urged. "Finish!"
Once the bomb drops, it's over. She trusts Lydia, but.....is she that trustworthy?
It's not time yet. Maybe later. Sure, she may get a little annoyed, but Rebecca needs her friends right now. Perhaps they'll understand when, say, they enter college....

Chapter Ten

It was Sunday. His dad and step-mom were out, so Mike had to make breakfast for himself.
He heard bumping and crashing. "What the...?" he said to himself.
Turning off the stove, he followed the noise. It seemed to be coming from Becca's room.

Like a worried, paranoid brother, and protective too, he stormed right in to come and rescue her. Rebecca screamed. The soccer ball she tried to make float in the air suddenly dropped. Mike stood there...wide eyed. It wasn't a magic trick...she really made it float.

"Mike...I...I....c-can explain!" she stuttered. "Ummm...well..."
"Did you just do that?"
"Well...uh..." she sighed. "Yeah...I did"
"That was totally cool! Do it again!" he shouted.
"Fine..." she focused, and once again, it floated.
"We need to talk...."

They both went outside on the swingset. Maybe Mike will be the first to really know.
"I have telekinesis" she said. "I've had it for awhile"
It was alot for Mike to take in. In fact, he even looked at her like a freak, but only for a second. He didn't want to shun his sister. She was a human being...like the rest of us...just with telekinesis.
"The first I ever told was Dad...." she then sighed. "He was freaked at first, but I'll always remember and hold in my heart what he said before he died. Before he left on that fateful day. The day I wasn't aware of would be the last time I'd ever...."
She then began to cry. It was painful to bear the memory.
Mike went over there in front of her, putting his hand on her shoulder.
"You can trust me," he said. "I'm your brother. Not by blood, but still. I'm here to look out for you. I've got your back"

Chapter Eleven

Rebecca sat in math class on that Monday, just thinking about everything. She had told Mike she was gifted. That was really hard. But at least he seemed to have understood. She was waiting for her friend, however, unsure of their reaction.

As the class exited, she placed her books into her locker and headed for lunch. She twirled her fork in her salad as if they were noodles. But she was in deep thought. Her life was going to take a turn....for the best or for the worst?
That was uncertain. She sighed deeply as she stared down at her tray, sitting alone at the table.

"Hi Beccy" she looked up and saw Jeffery standing there, tray in hand. "Mind if I sit here?"
"Ummmm...." Rebecca hesitated for a moment, but then sighed. "Uh, yeah, sure"
He then sat there, facing her, putting mustard on his salad.
"Why have you been avoiding me?" he asked.
Oh man, he had to ask that question!
Rebecca sort of stared at him, unwilling to answer. She was too scared.
"I...ummm....gotta go" she got up. "Sorry"
"Hey! You didn't even finsih your lunch!" he pointed down at her tray.

Becca didn't care about her lunch at the moment. She just ran to the girl's restroom. Breathing in and out deeply and quickly, as if she was out of breath. She went in one of the stalls and sat there, just thinking. Tears streamed down her face.
"I want to tell him," she whispered to herself. "But I don't think he'll understand"

Chapter Twleve

Rebecca slipped out of the restroom, when her crying session was over. As she walked down the hallway, she ended up bumping into Jeffery.
She almost screamed in horror. Not that she was afraid of him, but it seemed like it was getting harder to avoid him.
"What's wrong, Becca?" he looked into her eyes. "Have you been crying?"
"Uhhh...ummm..." she couldn't say anything. But she did a bold move...she turned around and ran like heck.

This probably served as a major turn off. This made her appear unstable and a freak. But at this point, she didn't care. As long as it isn't 'cause of her powers. Around the corner, she finally stopped, leaning against the lockers and taking a deep breath.
"Beccy!" a voice came.
Rebecca jumped with a quick scream.
"What is wrong with you?" it was Jana.
"Oh, sorry" she felt embarrased. "I thought you were someone else"
"What's going on? Running from someone?"
Becca nodded. "Sort of. More like, avoiding"
She looked around the corner and saw Jeffery coming this way. Freaked out, she then ran out of sight, leaving her friend thinking of her a crazy.

Class finally started. She didn't take many classes with Jeffery, so she felt safe. The long day had finally ended and school was dismissed. Holding her books tightly, she exited out the front entrance and began her walk home. Not even stepping foot off the courtyard, she felt someone's hand on her shoulder. She turned around a did a light scream. It was Jeffery.

About to make a run for it, Jeffery gripped her hand and pulled her back.
"Please, Becca, tell me what's wrong" he said. "Are you mad at me?"
Becca sighed. "No, I'm not"
"Then why are you freaking out every time you see me?" he asked.
"I don't know..." tears began to stream. "I guess I'm sort of confused...and a little scared"
"Scared of what?" he asked.
"That you won't like me for who I am" she reveals. "That when you know the real me you'll leave"
"You're crazy, Beccy" Jeffery said. "Why would you think that of me?"
"Because anyone would..." Rebecca said in a slight whisper. "It just hasn't happened yet"
